Is there a land clearing cost calculator?
Yes. LandWorkPro's calculator works from your own crew day rate and site conditions to crew days and break even, rather than a national average. It uses 0.6 acres per day for land clearing and 1.25 for forestry mulching as the starting production rates, and you can override both.
Why there is no average price on this page
The calculator does not return a market price, because we do not have one to give. It returns your break even from your own numbers. Our anonymity floor requires five contributing operators before we publish any figure drawn from closed jobs, and as of 2026-09-03 we are below it.
What actually drives the number
- Your crew day rate
- Machine, operator, fuel, wear and mobilization. The calculator starts here because every acre based price is this number divided by production.
- Acreage
- The tract size, which sets the base days before any condition multiplier.
- Density, terrain and access
- Three multipliers that compound. This is why a per acre rate quoted without them is not a price, it is a starting guess.
- Your own production rate
- The defaults are 0.6 acres per day for clearing and 1.25 for mulching. If you know your real rate, use it. Yours is better than ours.

Does the calculator tell me what to charge a customer?
No. It tells you your break even, which is what the job costs you. What you charge on top of that is margin, and that is your decision and depends on your market, your risk and how much you want the job.
Why does it not just give me a price per acre?
Because a price per acre with no crew day rate behind it is not a price. Two operators with different machines and different overheads have genuinely different break evens on identical ground. The calculator asks for your rate because that is the number that makes the answer yours.
